New Stuff Coming – But What Do You Want?
Ok, I know it has been a little while since my last post here…and even longer since my last Photoshop Tutorial. That being said, I wanted to let all of you know that I am currently working on a new and updated website.
The AFC & NFC Championship Games: Who Will Win?
Alright everyone the weekend is almost here and you all know what that means…that’s right, the AFC and NFC championships are almost here. Now I know I am not a sports writer so I am not going to do a whole post with my analysis of the games (let’s face it, that has been done over and over by writers and sports commentators who know a lot more than I do). I did, however, think it would be fun to get a poll going to see what all of you are thinking for the outcome of this weekend’s games and who will be going to Miami for the Superbowl.
I love you Canon!
Ok, so a while back all of us in the digital filmmaking world wanted to both kiss and kick Canon. They released there 5D Mark II and I was hooked on the video that it shot… almost that is. Besides having a terrible post-unfriendly H.264 video codec it lacked the one thing that all of us in the filmmaking world love… 24 frames per second.

Masking Hair In Photoshop
Alright, so it has been a little while since my last post and I do apologize for that. But I’m back with a new tutorial for you that I think you will enjoy. I have seen this done in several different tutorials all over the web and I loved the technique so much that I just had to share it with you here. I am going to show you one way to mask hair in photoshop. I will do this using channels and blend modes.
“Fringe” Benefits
So I was lurking around the Photoshop User Forums the other day when I came across a new thread where a new member was asking how the floating letters graphic from the show Finge could be reproduced as a still image. I hadn’t seen the show but did a quick google search and found an example of the floating letters. Typically when I want 3D lettering I will go right to illustrator, create my lettering, and then bring it into photoshop as paths. But with this one I knew the person posting the question only had Fireworks and Photoshop to work with. So I decided to try and do this using only photoshop. Below is my final result.
